Michael Jackson Will Live on Forever as the King of Pop

Michael Jackson began his assent to the zenith of international pop culture in the 1970’s as the stand-out member of the Jackson 5. His aspirations for success as a solo artist would be realized beyond anyone’s wildest imagination in the following decade with the release of his albums Off The Wall, Thriller, and Bad. Michael Jackson’s music was the blueprint for todays hio-hop generation. His humanaterianism for the children of the world should inspire us all.

Michael Jackson: Moonwalker debuted in 1988 as Jackson’s second foray into movies. By the end of the 1980s, Jackson had officially been dubbed “Artist of the Decade.” Michael Jackson was unquestionably the biggest pop star of the ’80s, and certainly one of the most popular recording artists of all time. In his prime, Jackson was an unstoppable juggernaut, possessed of all the tools to dominate the charts seemingly at will: an instantly identifiable voice, eye-popping dance moves, stunning musical versatility, and loads of sheer star power.

Michael Jackson was an idol to all even if you don’t like him as a person you respect him for his accomplishemnts. Michael Jackson was raised in a family of professional musicians. His father, Joseph, was a harsh disciplinarian, but the daily beatings he issued produced exceptional work out of the children. Michael Jackson - superhero, cartoon, singer, dancer, supremely troubled dude - made all this music, and it’s amazing.

Michael Jackson’s first release as a solo performer was the aching ballad “Got To Be There“, a major transatlantic hit. A revival of Bobby Day’s rock ‘n’ roll novelty “Rockin’ Robin” reached number 2 on the US chart in 1972, while the sentimental film theme “Ben” topped the chart later in the year. Michael Jackson redefined pop culture and music over his 40-year career.

Michael Jackson, one of the most widely beloved entertainers and profoundly influential artists of all-time, leaves an indelible imprint on popular music and culture. His artistry and magnetism changed the music landscape forever. Michael Jackson was born the seventh child of nine in 1958 to Joseph, a steel mill worker, and Katherine, a stay at home mom, in Gary, IN. Squeezed into a 2 bedroom apartment, music was their only saving grace.

Amid rumors of rampant eccentricities, MJ plowed ahead crafting memorable numbers ranging from infectious dance numbers (”Wanna Be Starting` Somethin`, ” “Don`t Stop `Til You Get Enough”) to heartfelt pleas for peace (”Black Or White”, “Heal The World”). Jacko`s pure chart dominance found him breaking MTV`s glass ceiling of color behind the THRILLER juggernaut and its slew of smashes: - “Billie Jean, ” “The Girl Is Mine” (with Paul McCartney”), “Thriller, ” and “Beat It” with its blistering Eddie Van Halen guitar solo-cum-crossover hook. Thankfully, the greatness of this 15-track set supersedes any tabloid innuendo.

Michael Jackson - Thriller 25th Anniversary Edition [Remaster]
Few albums in pop music history have the legacy of Michael Jackson`s THRILLER. Not only was the 1983 landmark one of the biggest-selling albums ever, its influence touched R&B, quiet storm, rock, hip-hop, and practically every other genre in the decades that followed. The 25th ANNIVERSARY EDITION gives the world the chance to re-evaluate this classic. For starters, the original tracks hold up marvelously. The luster hasn`t worn from the pure pop gems “Billie Jean” and “Wanna Be Startin` Somethin`, ” from the taut energy of “Beat It” and “Thriller, ” or the soft, intimate pulse of “Human Nature.” Quincy Jones`s crisp, multi-layered production seems even more masterly in hindsight. The set includes seven bonus tracks, including the previously unreleased ballad “For All Time” from the original sessions, while remixes from will i. am, Akon, Fergie, and Kanye West underscore THRILLER`s influence on contemporary pop. The package also comes with a bonus DVD featuring digitally restored versions of the album`s classic videos, and a 48-page color booklet complete with lyrics, rare photos and a personal greeting from Michael. The album and its colossal legacy come out no worse in the bargain. The finest example of perfect disco pop, and a record that should be prescribed to musical snobs and manic depressives. The album is a true ambassador of what pop music can be. Jackson whoops and dances through a suite of unforgettable melodies that should be danced to with a smile on your face. Each track offers at least one musical hook, whether it is the beauty of `Human Nature` (who can resist the `dada dada da da da`) or the `whoo whoo` of `Billie Jean`. It`s all too good.

Jackson`s domination of the world record market continued following Thriller, although by comparison it was an almighty flop with only 12 million sales. As Pink Floyd and Dire Straits have proved, one album can go completely sales haywire without necessarily being any better. The title track and the gorgeous “Man In The Mirror” were substantial hits, but quality material such as “Dirty Diana” and “Liberian Girl” bolster a strong album. Jackson also seemed to have found the romance he seeks in “I Just Can`t Stop Loving You” and “The Way You Make Me Feel.” Regardless of his press, history clearly shows that he has made a lot of people very, very happy.
